About DSMU

Among those specialists who will always be needed by society, doctors are considered to be among the first. In the development of the best national traditions of higher medical education, one of the oldest universities of Ukraine – Dnipro State Medical University – plays a significant role.

Dnipro State Medical University (DSMU) is a Center of Education, Science, and Culture of the highly industrial region of Ukraine, Dnipro. It is one of the oldest higher educational institution of Ukraine having 4th (the highest) level of accreditation in Ukraine.

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical University (DSMU) was founded on September 15, 1916, on the basis of Ekaterynoslavsky higher female courses Institute. Institute acquired the status of State Academy in 1920. In 1995 the first graduation of specialists who were foreign citizens took place. And the Academy joined the European Association of International Education.

On March 16, 2021 State institution “Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” by order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 473 of March 16, 2021 changed type and was renamed to Dnipro State Medical University!

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical University is the only institution all over Ukraine, providing training to foreign citizens at all faculties.

• Therapy and rehabilitation
• Pediatrics
• Postgraduate Education
• Preparatory department for foreign citizens

The institution is efficiently working on increasing the prestige of higher medical education of Ukraine and increasing its international authority, significantly influencing the formation of spiritual values ​​and worldview of its graduates.

Mission of Dnipro State Medical University is carrying out high-quality training of highly qualified specialists in the field of health care, maintaining the role of an authoritative research, practice-oriented, innovative educational platform for medical specialists, development of basic and applied science, providing professional medical care to the community as well as formation of highly educated, democratic and nationally conscious people.

During its more than 100-year history, DSMU became a full member of the Magna Charta Universitatum and received recognition from the WHO, IMED, UNESCO and AMEE.

Reproduced in DSMU unique educational environment – combines the classic organization of the educational process with the use of modern simulation, computer, interactive and 3D technologies in the process of learning, practical skills, diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical skills in the largest modern public and private clinical centers city, creates an opportunity to participate in international internship programs for students.
